Coppelia 2009
Naomi as Swanilda
Franz and the Swanildas
This season marked a return to the classical repertoire. “Coppelia” is a great narrative ballet, full of humour. The musical score by Delibes is full of good tunes and there are excellent opportunities to display the talents of all age groups. The rehearsal period was joyous and we enjoyed the participation of adults in the production as well as memorable performances by Terence Etheridge of the doll-maker, Dr. Coppelius.
Guest artist was Daisuke Miura (Ballet Wales).
However, we also produced three Swanildas from our own company. These were Robyn Green, Bryony Walker and Naomi Solomon.
