Swan Lake
When asked by excited young dancers and parents who had enjoyed
working towards the production of ‘The Nutcracker’
what they would do next year, Kay said, “Swan Lake of
course!” jokingly, however the declaration was taken
seriously and before we knew where we were, plans were being
made and the production was underway.
Some of the materials and braids used for the lovely costumes
were brought back by Kay from a trip to Hong Kong for Christmas,
complete with empty suitcase!
This was the first production designed for us by David Cockayne.
Unfortunately, we have no photos of our beautiful swans,
about whom the following remark was made by Shirley Grahame,
“By the time we had reached the end of Act ll, I had
forgotten we were watching children.”
