The Snow Queen
“The Snow Queen” was created to music by Glazunov
(Raymonda and the Seasons). Robyn Green was Gerda, Adam Ling
Kay, Orlando Russell the Fire Spirit with Ericka Walle as
the Fire Princess and Melissa Matthews the cold Snow Queen.
The Snow Queen provided a variety of roles for the young
cast members including icicles, trolls, villagers, flowers
in the Magical Garden, gypsies and flames.
Rather than stretch ‘The Snow Queen’ out to three
acts, Kay decided to re-stage “Gershwin” which
had been so popular. This time Orlando Russell and Melissa
Matthews made the Fred and Ginger pair and a tap number was
added receiving riotous applause.
