Duchy Ballet will be presenting a one night gala show on December 3rd at The Hall for Cornwall. It will comprise one act of Aurora's Wedding and another act including "The best bits of Duchy Ballet"

The 2012 shows will consist of Giselle and a new production entitled Jubilation which will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HRH Queen Elizabeth 2nd.

Giselle is the ultimate Romantic ballet, a tale of innocence, betrayal and the power of true love. This 1841 masterpiece moves from the sunny optimism of Giselle’s idyllic village life to a ghostly, moonlit world of mystery and menace.

Giselle is in love with the handsome Duke Albrecht, but when she discovers that he has deceived her she dies of a broken heart. By Giselle's grave in a mist-wreathed forest glade, vengeful spirits of abandoned brides force men to dance to their death. Giselle, cannot bear to see her true love, Albrecht, consigned to such a fate and returns as a ghost to save him.

Jubilation will consist of dances through the years since 1952 and promises to be a fun-packed spectacle.

They will be staged between the 22nd and 24th of March.
