Bravo to the Duchy
The Duchy Ballet’s Artistic director Kay Cecile Jones
boldly stated that their production of three ballets was “a
varied and sparkling production, which should not be missed”.
Well suffice to say, she was right.
The Duchy’s gamble of presenting three contrasting ballets,
rather than a full length classical production, paid off and
the audience was treated to a delightfully entertaining music
and dance extravaganza.
With more than 120 dancers featuring dozens from local dance
schools complimented by professional guest artists, the ease
with which the three ballets unfolded was testimony, no doubt,
to hours of rehearsal.
What made the Duchy’s production so special was not
only the dancers but the sheer extravagance of the costumes.
They must surely be the best collection of costumes ever to
have graced the stage of the Hall For Cornwall.
